No direct contact between the curing water and the concrete.
Each planter features a precisely fitting inner liner made from recycled plastic. It separates the water used for watering and the plant from the concrete, thereby helping to maintain a stable growing environment. The liners can be removed individually and are easy to clean. At the same time, they protect the concrete planter and make it easier to change or repot the plants. Even without the inner insert, the planters are 100% watertight. The planters have an internal diameter of approx. 13.5 cm and are suitable for standard plant pots with a diameter of up to 13 cm.
Many kitchen herbs, houseplants and small flowering plants can therefore be planted directly in their existing pots. There is no need to repot them straight away.
Suitable examples include:
- Basil, parsley, chives and mint
- Ivy, spider plant and philodendron
- Tradescantia and other hanging plants
- Small ferns and ornamental foliage plants
- Compact flowering plants
- Plants in soil, Seramis or expanded clay
The planters can be removed individually.
All three concrete planters can be removed individually from the wooden frame. This makes it easier to insert, water, clean and replace the plants. There is no need to work on the plants whilst they are still on the ladder. Each planter can be placed comfortably on a table or work surface and then put back in place.
Available as a bench or freestanding.
A plant ladder as a leaning aid
The bench is positioned at a slight angle against a load-bearing wall. This design takes up very little floor space and is ideal for narrow spaces, small kitchens, hallways or covered balconies.
Free-standing plant ladder
The freestanding version has its own support and can be set up without needing to be placed against a wall. It offers greater flexibility in terms of positioning within a room and can, for example, be placed in a free corner, in front of a wall or to the side of a window.
Made from white ash and smooth exposed concrete.
The ladder structure is made from white ash (with hardly any dark heartwood). The very light, finely grained wood has a light and homely feel and provides a natural contrast to the solid concrete planters. All the wooden joints are hand-mortised. The minimalist design features slender cross-sections, allowing as much light as possible to reach the plants.
The planters are hand-cast from exceptionally smooth exposed concrete. A special manufacturing process allows for a planter wall that is only around 7 mm thick. The surface is carefully finished, giving each planter its own unique character.
The plant ladder is available in natural ash wood or with a matt black lacquered finish.
For indoor use and sheltered outdoor areas.
The ash wood plant ladder is designed for use in living rooms, kitchens, offices, conservatories and outdoor areas sheltered from the rain. On a covered balcony or sheltered terrace, it should be positioned so that the wood and concrete planters are not permanently exposed to rain, frost or standing damp. For outdoor areas fully exposed to the elements, the stainless steel version of the Urbanature plant stand is more suitable.
