The HOCHGARTEN for outdoor use.

The HOCHGARTEN STAINLESS STEEL brings the HOCHGARTEN’s distinctive design, featuring oak poles, to gardens, patios and balconies. Five removable planters made of exposed concrete are arranged in a circle at varying heights, creating a vibrant, three-dimensional display of plants within a footprint of just around 40 cm in diameter. Instead of oak, the planters are supported by weather-resistant stainless steel tubes. This preserves the familiar, light form whilst ensuring that the HOCHGARTEN is suitable for long-term outdoor use.

With hanging plants and flowering plants, it becomes a living garden sculpture, a green eye-catcher and a beautiful feature in the front garden. The planters can be removed individually, making it easier to plant, maintain and change the plants with the seasons.

The Design.

The HOCHGARTEN STAINLESS STEEL is based, in terms of design, on the classic HOCHGARTEN. Five poles or tubes rising diagonally upwards converge at a central connecting element. The five planters are mounted at their ends. This construction creates the typical spatial arrangement of the HOCHGARTEN and provides each plant with light and space to grow. The difference between the two versions lies primarily in the material used for the supporting elements:

This means that the design language remains the same, whilst the preferred area of application changes.

The plant pots.

The HOCHGARTEN STAINLESS STEEL range comprises five individually removable planters made from smooth exposed concrete. A specially developed casting process enables a wall thickness of just around 7 mm. As a result, the concrete planters appear surprisingly delicate despite being made from such a solid material. The planters are 17 cm high and have an internal diameter of 13.5 cm. This makes them suitable for standard plant pots up to approximately 13 cm in diameter.

Stable footing.

The stainless steel tubes are fitted with adjustable feet. These allow you to compensate for minor unevenness in the ground and ensure the plant stand is stable and properly aligned. For a permanent location in the garden, additional anchoring may also be advisable, depending on the ground conditions. The location should always be level, stable and suitable for a freestanding, tall plant stand.

The HOCHGARTEN STAINLESS STEEL and the classic HOCHGARTEN with OAK POLES are based on the same design principle. The difference lies in the supporting poles: in the HOCHGARTEN, oiled oak poles create a warm, cosy feel – ideal for living rooms, offices, hotels and other indoor spaces.

With the HOCHGARTEN STAINLESS STEEL range, weather-resistant stainless steel tubes fulfil this function. This means the same design is also suitable for gardens, patios and balconies.

Is the HOCHGARTEN STAINLESS STEEL suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The supporting tubes are made of weather-resistant stainless steel and are designed for long-term outdoor use. The plant stand is therefore particularly suitable for gardens, patios and balconies.

What is the difference compared to the HOCHGARTEN with oak poles?

Both versions follow the same design and can accommodate five plants. In the classic HOCHGARTEN, the supporting poles are made of oak and are particularly suitable for indoor use and sheltered areas. In the HOCHGARTEN STAINLESS STEEL version, these are replaced by weather-resistant stainless steel tubes.

How much space does the plant stand take up?

The HOCHGARTEN requires a footprint of only around 40 cm in diameter, yet still offers space for five plants at different heights. This makes it suitable for smaller terraces and balconies as well.

Are the planters removable?

Yes. All five exposed-concrete planters can be removed individually. This makes it easier to plant, repot, clean and change the plants with the seasons.

Which plants are suitable for the HOCHGARTEN?

Green plants, hanging plants, herbs and seasonal balcony plants are particularly well suited. The varying heights really bring out the best in overhanging and climbing plants.

Can standard plant pots be used?

Yes. Standard plant pots up to approximately 13 cm in diameter fit into the exposed concrete planters. Please see our range of plant pots here in the shop.

Can the HOCHGARTEN be used with hydroponics?

Yes. The plant stand can be used with soil, Seramis, expanded clay or hydroponics. Suitable inner inserts and water level indicators can be added depending on the plants. We recommend using good-quality potting compost for outdoor use. Make sure to include a drainage layer.

What happens when it rains heavily?

If the plants are placed outdoors in the open, excess rainwater must be able to drain away reliably. To ensure this, it is advisable to have a suitable drainage hole or overflow in the planters. Use the water dispenser to ensure your plants get through the day well, even in intense heat. If your plant stand is partially sheltered, use the water reservoir with a maximum capacity of 200 ml. (Add inner inserts, plant pots and water level indicators).

Does the HOCHGARTEN need to be brought indoors in winter?

The stainless steel structure can be left outdoors. Whether plants and planters need to be protected over winter depends on the specific plants, the location and the temperatures. The planters can easily be removed individually for this purpose.

Is the plant stand also suitable for indoor use?

Yes. The HOCHGARTEN STAINLESS STEEL can, of course, also be used indoors. For living spaces, however, the classic HOCHGARTEN with oak slats offers a warmer, more homely feel.

Will the HOCHGARTEN remain stable even on uneven ground?

Minor unevenness can be compensated for using the adjustable feet. However, the floor should be as level and stable as possible.
