The planter made of robinia wood without waterlogging.
Wooden flower boxes generally have a hard time: water, soil and wood – they often don’t go well together. The natural decay process can only be delayed, not prevented. Bacteria and fungi accelerate the demise of spruce and other woods. That’s why plastic and metal boxes have long been the norm. But there’s one thing they can’t offer: the unmistakable charm of a real wooden flower box. The HOCHGARTEN flower box solves precisely this problem. Its body is open at the bottom – excess water can simply drain away. This prevents waterlogging, which quickly becomes a problem with classic wooden boxes with closed bottoms. Standard flower boxes are suitable for use as inserts. With the practical rod feet, the box can be expanded into a small raised bed in no time at all – ideal for herbs, ornamental plants or even vegetables.
Natural wood design combined with clever functionality – for long-lasting gardening pleasure.
Flower box with good features.
Plastic flower boxes have one major disadvantage: they are not dimensionally stable. Sunlight weakens the material, causing the boxes to warp, become brittle and lose their shape. In addition, the material heats up significantly, causing the substrate to dry out quickly. Once the soil is completely dry, it can hardly absorb any water. The result: crooked balcony boxes, overflowing water and stressed plants. These problems do not occur with robinia wood. The material remains dimensionally stable, does not heat up even in direct sunlight and is more resistant to weather influences. Especially on hot summer days, your plants benefit from a more even climate and optimal growing conditions. (Similar to SPICEPOT concrete planters) Our flower boxes combine natural design with durability and optimum functionality – for healthy plants and permanently beautiful balconies. Attention wood lovers: for partially covered outdoor areas, we offer vertical gardens with coloured surface treatments.
