BIKEBLOCK with anti-theft device – an extra securing point.
Security – exactly where it’s needed.
The BIKEBLOCK is not a substitute for a bike rack permanently anchored to the ground. However, it fills a gap that many cycle owners encounter on a daily basis:
- park it outside the front door
- leave it in the stairwell
- park in the underground car park
- in the carport
- in the courtyard
- at work
- in the holiday flatg
Anywhere where a bike shouldn’t be left unsecured.
After all, it’s not just the bike that’s often a valuable companion. Child trailers such as the Thule Chariot, cargo bikes or high-quality transport trailers are part of everyday life for many families. After a ride or a trip to the shops, they’re often left outside the front door or in the stairwell – exactly where there’s usually no way to lock them securely. With its solid construction, the BIKEBLOCK becomes a formidable physical barrier. When used with a suitable lock, it makes it considerably more difficult for someone to simply carry off or push away a bike or trailer, providing a flexible security solution where none would otherwise be available.
Whether it’s a road bike, e-bike, cargo bike or child trailer – whatever matters to you requires an extra securing point. The BIKEBLOCK with lock mount creates a physical barrier exactly where there are no fixed mooring points.
Craftsmanship rather than mass production.
Every BIKEBLOCK is a unique, handcrafted piece.
The production of a BIKEBLOCK begins with a specially developed concrete mix. Over many years, we have continuously refined the material, the manufacturing process and the surface quality – through countless trials, setbacks and our commitment to achieving an exceptional exposed concrete finish on all five sides.
The concrete is poured using a specially developed process that requires a great deal of experience and a delicate touch. This is the only way to achieve the exceptionally dense and uniform exposed concrete surface that characterises the BIKEBLOCK.
Unlike many concrete products, the smooth exposed concrete texture is not limited to the top surface. The exposed sides all round also impress with a uniform, smooth surface with barely visible air pockets or sedimentation. The result is a concrete structure that looks high-quality from every angle.
Once removed from the mould, each BIKEBLOCK is sanded by hand. The surface is then given a special finish which compacts and hardens the concrete. This results in a particularly durable, smooth texture. The surface does not chalk, is easy to maintain and retains its attractive appearance over time.
Shipping 18 kg of concrete around the world isn’t something you can just do on a whim. We’ve spent years developing and optimising the packaging too. It provides reliable protection for the BIKEBLOCK and ensures safe delivery – both nationally and internationally.
From time to time, we offer items with minor cosmetic imperfections as second-grade goods.
