A plant pot that can do more than just roll.

The PLANT TROLLEY is a wheeled planter for large plants, vegetables and climbing plants. Its unique design feature is that the fixed wooden handle is not only used to tilt the planter and move it on its built-in castors; it also serves as a sturdy support stake to which the plant can be permanently attached.

With the optional stainless steel climbing spiral, the wooden handle becomes a flexible trellis. Tomatoes, cucumbers, climbing plants and tall ornamental plants are provided with secure support – even when the planter is rolled to a different location. The plant, the climbing support and the planter remain firmly attached as a single unit.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Built-in castors for easy repositioning
  • A wooden handle and sturdy trellis in a single component
  • 24 litres of planting volume for robust container plants
  • Up to 4.5 litres of water storage capacity for longer watering intervals

To move the PLANT TROLLEY, simply tilt it by the wooden handle and roll it along on its castors. This makes it easier to move even heavily planted pots to one side, turn them towards the sun or take them to their winter storage – without needing an additional plant trolley and without having to lift the entire pot.

A planting volume of 24 litres provides ample space for the roots. The integrated water reservoir holds up to 4.5 litres and helps to keep the plant watered on hot days. The PLANT TROLLEY thus combines mobility, a trellis and watering in a well-designed planting system.

The wheeled plant pot based on the trolley principle.

Large planters become surprisingly heavy after just a short time. The soil, water, plant and trellis can together reach a weight that is almost impossible to lift comfortably. Moving them to a new spot, cleaning the patio or transporting them to their winter storage area can therefore quickly become physically demanding.

The PLANT TROLLEY solves this problem with a specially designed bucket shape featuring permanently integrated castors and a securely attached wooden handle. There is no need to lift the bucket completely. Instead, it is tilted slightly by the handle and then moved like a trolley.

The wheels are an integral part of the plant pot. There is no need for an additional plant trolley that might slip, be visible beneath the pot or have to be moved separately.

Conventional Planter or PLANT TROLLEY?

Feature Conventional Planter PLANT TROLLEY

Changing Location The planter has to be lifted or placed on a separate plant caddy. Simply tilt it using the wooden handle and move it effortlessly on the integrated wheels.

Climbing Support A plant stake is usually inserted loosely into the potting soil. The permanently attached wooden handle also serves as a stable climbing support.

Trellis A trellis must be installed separately or attached to the planter afterwards. The optional climbing spiral is attached directly to the existing wooden climbing support.

Moving the Plant The climbing support and plant may become loose, shift or tilt when the planter is moved. The plant, climbing support and planter remain securely connected as one unit while being moved.

Contact Between the Wooden Support and Soil The plant stake often remains permanently in damp potting soil, which can cause it to weather more quickly. The wooden climbing support is mounted outside the planting area and does not come into direct contact with damp soil.

Water Supply Depending on the planter, there may be no integrated water reservoir. Excess water simply drains into a saucer or outer pot. The integrated water reservoir holds up to 4.5 litres and supplies the plant with water over an extended period. A water intake basket draws water from the reservoir.

The handle also serves as the support pole

The wooden handle fulfils two functions on the PLANT TROLLEY: it is used to move the planter and also serves as a permanently fixed trellis. Unlike loose trellis poles, the wood is not simply inserted into the potting soil. It is securely attached to the planter outside the planting area. As a result, the trellis has no direct contact with the permanently moist substrate. At the same time, virtually the entire volume of the pot is available to the plant’s roots. The plant can remain permanently attached to the support. When the pot is moved, the plant and the support are moved together. There is no need to detach, reposition or realign the support.

From a wooden pole to a flexible trellis.

For plants with more extensive branching or climbing habits, the wooden trellis can be supplemented with an optional stainless steel trellis spiral. The spiral is attached to the wooden stake and its diameter can be adjusted to suit the plant’s growth. This creates a three-dimensional trellis that not only supports the plant at a single point, but also wraps around it from the sides and supports its growth. This is suitable, for example, for tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, climbing plants and tall flowering plants. The wooden stake thus provides a stable base. The optional trellis spiral extends this into a flexible training and trellising solution.

The plant, the trellis and the pot remain as a single unit.

With conventional plant pots, support stakes, trellises or espaliers often have to be attached separately. When the pot is moved, they can come loose, become wedged or damage the plant.

With the PLANT TROLLEY, the key functions are integrated:

  • The pot holds the plant and the growing medium.
  • The wood serves as a handle and a support for the plant to climb.
  • The optional trellis guides and stabilises the plant.
  • The built-in castors allow the pot to be moved to a different location.

This allows a fully planted and tied-up plant to be moved as a single unit.

24 litres of space for robust plants

With a planting capacity of 24 litres, the PLANT TROLLEY offers significantly more root space than small balcony and decorative pots. The volume of growing medium is suitable for many larger container plants as well as for vigorous vegetable plants. The PLANT TROLLEY can be used for, amongst other things:
  • Tomatoes
  • Aubergines
  • Peppers
  • Cucumbers
  • Beans
  • smaller varieties of squash
  • Dipladenia
  • Clematis
  • tall summer flowers
  • ornamental grasses
  • portable privacy screens
  • or indoor plants

The choice of plants should always be tailored to the location, height and available root space.

Water storage and drainage

Beneath the planting compartment is a water reservoir with a capacity of up to 4.5 litres. The growing medium and the water reservoir are separated by a drainage screen. An integrated wicking basket allows the growing medium to absorb moisture from the lower section. This means the plant can still draw on a water supply even when the top layer of soil has already begun to dry out. For outdoor use, excess water can be drained away via the base drain. When used indoors, the drain should be sealed with the plug and the water level monitored. A water level indicator makes it easier to gauge the remaining supply.

Versatile for use on balconies and terraces

The PLANT TROLLEY can be adapted to changing conditions. For example, plants can:

  • moved closer to the sun or into partial shade
  • positioned in a sheltered spot in strong winds
  • moved to one side to allow the floor to be cleaned
  • used as a mobile privacy screen
  • easier to move into winter storage in autumn
  • repositioned flexibly during a redesign

This flexibility is particularly useful on balconies and smaller terraces, as plant pots often need to be moved around several times a year in these spaces.

Dimensionally stable and suitable for outdoor use

This thick-walled planter is designed for use both indoors and outdoors. The material is UV-resistant, frost-resistant and dimensionally stable. The planter is available in white and dark grey. The larch trellis adds a natural touch and creates a deliberate contrast to the clean lines of the planter.

Frequently asked questions about the PLANT TROLLEY plant pot.

Does the wooden handle also serve as a support for climbing plants?

Yes. The permanently fitted wooden handle also serves as a sturdy support stake. Plants can be attached directly to it. For more heavily branched or climbing plants, a flexible stainless-steel trellis coil is also available.

Is the trellis included in the delivery?

The wooden handle or trellis pole is included. The stainless steel trellis coil, which transforms the trellis pole into a three-dimensional trellis, is available as an optional extra depending on the version chosen. On request, longer trellis poles of up to 2 m can also be supplied. Please note: a bulky goods surcharge applies.

Can the PLANT TROLLEY be moved whilst fully planted?

Yes. The pot has been designed so that it can be tilted by the wooden handle – even whilst containing soil and a plant – and moved on the built-in castors. The actual weight felt depends on the plant, the soil and the amount of water.

Does the plant need to be removed from the trellis before moving it?

No. The plant can remain attached to the trellis or the optional support frame. The pot, plant and support are moved together.

Is the trellis touching the potting compost?

No. The trellis is attached to the pot outside the planting area. This means it is not constantly in damp compost.

Which plants is the PLANT TROLLEY suitable for?

This planter is suitable for tomatoes, aubergines, peppers, cucumbers, beans, climbing plants, tall flowering plants and decorative privacy screens, amongst other things.

Can the plant pot be left outside over the winter?

The planter is not frost-resistant and is therefore only suitable for outdoor use to a limited extent. However, whether a plant can overwinter in the planter depends on the specific plant species and its location.

Does the PLANT TROLLEY have a water reservoir?

Yes. There is a water reservoir beneath the planting compartment with a capacity of up to 4.5 litres. A drainage screen and a water intake basket help to supply the growing medium with moisture.
